Abstract
This study explores student financial management and expense patterns, focusing on challenges and strategies for improvement. Using a descriptive survey design with a sample of University of Benin students, the research examines financial literacy levels, common spending habits, and factors influencing financial behavior. Findings highlight limited income sources, debt accumulation, and peer pressure as significant challenges. The study emphasizes the role of financial literacy in improving financial decision-making and recommends tailored educational programs to enhance students' financial well-being. These insights aim to reduce financial stress and promote effective financial management practices among students in higher education.
