ABSTRACT
Cyber-attack incidences have increased significantly as a result of the Internet's connections expanding exponentially, frequently with tragic and painful results. Malware is the weapon of choice for carrying out harmful intents in the online, whether by taking advantage of already-existing weaknesses or using special features of developing technology. The cyber security community has viewed the creation of more cutting-edge and potent malware defensive methods as a pressing necessity. To help us in achieving this, we first give a summary of the most commonly exploited hardware, software, and network layer vulnerabilities. The analyses of current state-of-the-art mitigation approaches that follow explain why they work or don't. Then, we go into fresh assault strategies for cutting-edge technologies including social media, cloud computing, mobile technology, and crucial infrastructure. Finally, we discuss our conjectural findings about potential future study directions.
