ABSTRACT

The concept of corporate social responsibility varies according to the definition given by scholars. Some scholars like Milton Friedman posits that businesses are not under any obligation to engage in Acts of philanthropy in the Host community. When are the scholars believe that businesses are to leave their hosts societies better than they met them. Carroll’s definition of corporate social responsibility is depicted on a CSR pyramid in which I explained four aspects of CSR which are: philanthropic, ethical, legal and economic responsibility. This research work revealed areas where international Breweries admin impact on the local community in Ilesa. The ethics of any organization depends on their beliefs, this believes form core values which impact on a company’s code of conduct and relations with stakeholders like employees, local communities, etc. this study reveals in details the ethical activities of International Breweries in Ilesa. Apart from ensuring peaceful relations with her host communities in Ilesa, how ethical activities also helped to increase the company’s brand over the years. By giving back to the society, International Breweries also encourages employees to engage in voluntary activities for the benefits of host communities. This research work is explored but the company's internal external code of conduct. International breweries takes proactive actions in environmental and philanthropic activities. the sustainability development goals of the company includes agriculture, climate action, water efficiency and management amongst others. This is the step to reducing and negative environmental footprints in host communities.
