This study was to carry out a comparative study computer laboratories in secondary schools in Egor Local Government area of Edo state and the problems faced by teachers in the use of the laboratory. The study was necessary to examine the use of computer laboratory in secondary schools and the problems faced teachers when using the laboratory. The study adopts the descriptive survey as the research design. The research instrument was a well-structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was validated by the project supervisor for final correction. The reliability test was carried out using the test re-test method to arrive at a value that was reliable. Questionnaires were administered and answers offered were collated and analysed using the frequency count, mean and standard deviation, while regression analysis was used to test for the hypothesis. Findings from the study revealed that; that that ICT is an important evolution in that when properly integrated into the educational sector will bring about a tremendous impact in improving the teaching and learning process and in the long run boost the academic performance of students from primary to tertiary levels. Hence, the provision of ICT facilities like less expensive laptops for students, tablet, interactive White Boards or Smart Boards, E-readers, Flipped Classrooms among others has a significant impact in improving the academic performance of students who are now aware of the digital era that the world has moved into. Hence, when the right ICT facilities are put in place in schools, the teaching and learning process will be enhanced which will in the long run positively improve the academic performance of students. It was however recommended that government should ensure that adequate ICT facilities are provide in schools for effective teaching and learning process; government should ensure that adequate technical support staff is given to schools for the proper use of ICT facilities; and that schools should ensure that teachers are adequately trained and enlightened on the use of ICT facilities.
