A STUDY OF CYBER SECURITY CHALLENGES AND ITS EMERGING TRENDS

ABSTRACT

Cybersecurity is critical in the realm of information technology. Securing information has become one of today's most difficult issues. When we think of cyber security, the first thing that comes to mind is cyber-crimes, which are expanding at an alarming rate every day. Various governments and businesses are taking several steps to combat cybercrime. The aim of this project is to study cyber security challenges and its emerging trends on smart technologies and emerging technologies like blockchain technology, AI smart technologies, IoT, cloud technology, information technology, data security plays a significant role. This project employs research survey method which includes data collection and analysis. It also covers the most recent developments in cyber security tactics, ethics, and trends that are transforming the face of cyber security. This study identified trends changing cyber security outlined as web servers, cloud computing and its services, APT’s and it’s targeted attacks, artificial intelligence, mobile networks, ipv6 and encryption of the code. Discussion and analysis from the qualitative research that was undergone demonstrated that a large percentage (81%) of the survey response are fully aware of cyber security threats but those who had faced cyber threats were in the minority (36%) to those who had not experienced it (47%). Regardless, 98% of the survey responses underlined the need for proper education to help users prevent data breach.
