ABSTRACT
The study discusses the coronation of Oba Ewuare II in the year 2016. The study also observed coronation the nature, manifestations and operational mode of the coronation of Oba Ewuare II and how its promotes tourism, socio-cultural and economic activities of Edo state.
This chapter examines the tradition of origin of the Benin people. It shows the various socio-economic activities and institutions of Benin kingdom. The chapter also elucidates the political activities of the Benin kingdom and how its sharpen the expansion of the ancient Benin kingdom.
This chapter inspects the nature, manifestation and installation of the Oba of Benin. It also necessitated the modu operadi for the formation of the spiritual and customary rites of the Oba of Benin. This chapter examine the effect of the coronation of the Oba of Benin to contemporary Benin kingdom and its promotes socio-economic institutions of the ancient Benin kingdom; the chapter also identify the guild system and how its relate to the Oba Ewuare II coronation.
