SUMMARY
In course of this study, a total of 131 commercial animal farms were visited in Benin metropolis. Of these farms, 98 were the sample size. The quantity of waste generated from 98 farms is 56.55 tons per day. A prototype compost machine was designed, with the volume of the drum, V =0.212m3 , and the diameter of the shaft, d = 85mm fabricated and tested. From the result obtained, it was discovered that the machine is capable of converting animal waste to organic manure.
