ABSTRACT
This study discussed the various pseudo random number generators with emphasis on the linear congruential generator and its simulation study. A review of several works on pseudo random number generators was presented and a detailed algorithm for implementing the linear congruential generator, which is our specific interest in the study, was given. Furthermore, some simulation studies were carried out on the specific method we concentrated on. Statistical properties of the pseudo random numbers generators by the method were tested. Results of the statistical test carried out on the pseudo random numbers generated were very close to their theoretical (expected) values, pointing to the fact that the procedure was well implemented and the pseudo random numbers are true representatives of actual random numbers
