ABSTRACT
The Internet of Things (IoT) is definitely changing the way businesses and industries interact and arrange their daily operations. Its use has proven to be beneficial in industries that handle a large number of assets and coordinate complicated and distributed processes. This research project examines how IoT technologies (such as data-driven apps, embedded automation, and intelligent adaptive systems) can be used for Defense and Public Safety (PS). It identifies scenarios in which Defense and Public Safety could use enhanced commercial IoT capabilities to give security personnel and first responders more survivability while lowering costs and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness. This project employs research survey methods, which include data collection and analysis. It makes use of the qualitative approach which includes gathering of various academic works which are related to this project study. A lot of articles were reviewed and selected on the basis of the defined keywords, and were retrieved from online sources, which provided relevant information to answer the research questions. This study identified the key applications of IoT on defense and public safety, outlined as monitoring of environment, control in production safety, food safety regulation; and social safety regulation. Discussions and analyses from this study showed the benefits of IoT devices, which includes increased comfort in daily life with the use of technology, cost savings, use of virtual assistants, better fitness, and improvement in home security.
