Abstract
This work is a morphophonemic analysis of some selected Edo Poems. It account for the loss of segment at word boundary. The work is structure into five chapters. The research it’s all about the phonological conditioning of morphemes. The theoretical framework adopted is the descriptive theoretical framework, which was used to run the morphophonemic analysis of some selected Edo poems.
The observation made during this research was the constant omission of vowel sounds at word boundary and also consonant sound are sometimes deleted in rapid speech. In conclusion vowel elision is an obvious feature in the Edo language.
