ABSTRACT
This project presents the design and development of student identity access control (mobile authenticator) as the current identification and verification process during an examination can be easily manipulated and is not secured enough. The invigilator enters the examination hall, while students queue, and their examination pass/docket is cross checked to ensure they are qualified for the examination before gaining access to the examination hall. This Project utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC) cards to enhance student identification with the use of a mobile application for authentication during exams in the education sector. The goal of this project is to create a Student Identity Access Control system (Mobile Authenticator). Current achievements in this field include secure Identification: with NFC technology, it provides secure identification of the student’s taking the exam. This was achieved by using NFC-enabled cards, and a mobile application that can be linked to the student's image and information ensuring that only authorized students are allowed to take the exam. Overall, The NFC technology can be used as an effective tool for access control in examination centers, thereby preventing impersonation and ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
