ABSTRACT
This research work examined the Niger-Delta crisis, causes and impacts of the oil conflict in the region, and strategies to resolve it. It interrogated the assertion that the Niger Delta crisis was just a terrorist activity which does not have any genuine backing of fighting for their right and resources. To achieve the basic objective of this study, the study was divided into five functionally related chapters. In chapter one, a broad introduction to the study with references to background to the history of oil production in the region and the antecedence of the crisis in the region was given. Following that, the purpose of the study was to examine the Niger-Delta crisis, causes and impacts of the oil conflict in the region, and strategies to resolve it. The methodology of study was clearly stated to include archival materials and written materials. The scope of study was noted to be between 2000 to 2015, after which relevant literature relating to the work were thoroughly reviewed.
