ABSTRACT
This study is a documentation of medical terms in usen, a dialect of Yoruba, spoken in Edo state. The research aims to understand how medical terminology is constructed and utilized within the Usen community, serving as a foundation for effective communication in healthcare settings, Through qualitative data collection methods, including oral interviews with native speakers, the study gathers primary and basic data for analysis. Data analysis employs descriptive approach of the basic linguistic Theory. Observations reveal different medical terms in Usen dialects ranging from terms that describe disease, to terms that describe ailments, terms that describe situation, terms that describe equipment/profession and terms that describe body parts.
