ABSTRACT
The use of medical terminologies in Ilaje is a way of preserving history, culture, and values, shaping and maintaining the values of both traditional healthcare and modern healthcare practices in the Ilaje community. This study focuses on a documentation of Medical Terminologies in Ilajè. The data for this study was collected through oral interview of a indigen of Ilje. Data was got by a wordlist of 140 (one hundred and forty) terms. Data analysis was done using descriptive framework which provided valuable insights into the word structure of these terminologies. The findings show the processes adopted in the formation of the terminologies, processes like compounding, reduplication, conversion, and borrowing, these morphological processes show the word structure of the Ilaje dialect. The understanding and documentation of these terms would help preserve, and then provide a well-functioning healthcare system within the llaje community, fostering good communication amongst the health care practitioners, Achieving a good relationship between their traditional healthcare practices and modern healthcare practices.
