ABSTRACT
This study examines the profitability and productivity performance of some selected companies as well as industries in the Nigeria manufacturing sector between the periods of 2018 to 2022.This research identifies the problem areas affecting the profitability and productivity performance of these companies and industries such as the production departments, marketing departments etc. The Quick Productivity Performance (QPA) Approach is adopted by utilizing secondary data extracted from the annual report of each of these companies from the Nigeria Exchange group. The profitability of each company, industry and the sector at large is measured in terms of Return On Asset(ROA), which is taken as a proxy for profitability and productivity performance. Trend analysis is used to analyse the upward and downward movement of the different profitability and productivity measurements.
