ABSTRACT
This project work is aimed at looking at folksongs in bini naming and marriage ceremonies and their educational values. This work briefly state the history of the Edo Language, definition and importance of folksongs; a brief study of the nature of Edo folksongs. Chapter two talks about the nature of the Edo folksongs in Edo naming and marriage ceremonies examples and meaning of some Edo folksongs used in naming and marriages Chapter three talks about the methodology used in the project work i.e. Research design, population, sampling, method of data administration etc. In chapter four, analysis and presentation of data and objective comments was done. Chapter five encompasses summary, findings, conclusion and some recommendations.
