LAB are typically involved in a large number of spontaneous food fermentations but they are also closely associated with the human environment. This study has shown that LAB with probiotic potentials are present in yoghurt drinks sold in Delta State and may have a beneficial effect on the health of consumers against gastrointestinal disturbances as well as improving the intestinal microbial balance.
