SUMMARY
In this study, the focus was to comparatively study the out-door play environment in private and public pre-school settings, using 4 selected pre-schools in Uhunmwode Local Government Area in Edo state.
Play environment was seen as an overall surrounding of a place by Almonde (2000). The claimed that, for any out-door play to be effective and result-oriented, the environment in which play is carried out ought to be well prepared.
As important as in the developing of the young child, most schools lack the necessary infrastructures to support the child's learning. This study is to compare what obtains in both public and private primary schools in Uhunmde Local Government Area Edo State.
